Asia Business Conference

The key highlight of the Asia Business Club is the annual Asia Business Conference, the largest Asia-focused business conference in North America.

The Asia Business Conference is an annual gathering jointly organized by the Harvard Business School, the Harvard Law School, and the Kennedy School of Government. The conference aims to foster meaningful discussion on policies and trends that dominate the business and legal institutions of modern Asia. To this end, the conference organizes a series of keynote speeches, plenary sessions, topical panels, and social events featuring distinguished leaders from industry, government, and academia who have intimate experience with Asia.

Past conference keynote speakers have included Mr. Haruhiko Kuroda, President of the Asian Development Bank; H.E. Ong Keng Yong, Secretary-General of ASEAN; H.E. Dr. Supachai Panitchpakdi, Former Director General of the World Trade Organization; H.E. Jin Liqun, Former Vice Minister of Finance of the People’s Republic of China; Mr. Lee Hong-Koo, former Prime Minister of South Korea; Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky, former U.S. Trade Representative; and Dr. Edgar Cheng, Former Chairman of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Our influential speakers have established for the conference a strong reputation within the Asian business community, drawing annual conference participation of more than 800 Asia-focused students and professionals.

In 2006, over 100 prominent corporate leaders, academics, and government officials participated in the conference as speakers. More than 1,000 students from 40 universities nationwide and professionals from across the country attended the conference. A full description and schedule of last year’s conference can be found on the Asia Business Conference website at http://community.asiabusinessconference.org/.
